
Child & Youth Care Worker (Day & Overnight)
We are looking for a dedicated Child and Youth Care Worker to join our team full-time. This position involves 8 hour shifts and focuses on providing support and care to children and youth in a specialized setting. Your primary focus will be on creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting emotional well-being, and facilitating positive development.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Provide daily care, supervision and guidance to children and youth in a residential facility.
Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and development.
Implement and follow established care plans for each child/youth, addressing their unique needs and goals.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to child/youth care.
Facilitate and participate in recreational activities, educational programs, and therapeutic interventions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident progress and incidents.
Respond effectively to crisis or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with children and youth with high risk, challenging and complex behaviors in a residential setting would be ideal
An extensive screening process, including a criminal record check will be needed for suitability of the position
A valid BC drivers license and in some cases use of own vehicle will be required

Coordinator
The Coordinator will be responsible for supervising and supporting the staff and person in care. You will ensure the well-being and safety of staff and clients by overseeing daily operations, coordinating staff schedules, implementing and monitoring care plans, and maintaining a supportive and inclusive living environment. This position is highly administrative in nature as you will be responsible for ensuring all reporting is aligned with CARF standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Oversees the day-to-day operations and evaluates program policies.
Develops, implements, and evaluates Care Setting goals, objectives, policies and procedures and ensures the required standards are maintained.
Identifies both physical and program needs of the Care Setting to appropriate authority(ies). Plans with Service Provider Personnel and Subcontractors for changes.
Schedules, supervises, and evaluates staff members
Assists in recruiting and provides guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation or other matters arising in the Care Setting.
Assists senior management in preparing the annual operating budget and monitors, authorizes and allocates expenditures within the budget. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
Ensures the cleanliness, safety, security, and maintenance of the Care Setting
Maintains the Care Setting’s inventory of supplies.
Works as a Child and Youth Worker or an Awake Overnight Worker performing the duties as required; appropriately delivering or enables strategies established in children’s and youth’s Care plan
